Getting Help and Resource Information from USENET

USENET newsgroups are world-wide conferences devoted to most any topic that you can imagine. A number of these USENET newsgroups maintain FAQs related to their subject of interest. Before you post to any USENET newsgroup or ask any questions, be sure to read through the related FAQ first. If you still have questions, you'll find many related newsgroups in which you can post your Perl or CGI related question.

If you're a PPP user, you can access USENET newsgroups via your installed and configured NNTP news client, such as Agent99 or your browser.

Unix shell account users do not need to install an NNTP news client as we have already built these programs into your Unix shell account.  The most popular Unix newsreader is "tin", and "nn", "rn" and other newsreaders are also available from the Unix shell.
