This document contains general information which will help you to configure your iMac or other Open Transport TCP/IP computer for use with FOURnet by following the steps below. 


Internet Setup Assistant

Locate the Assistants folder on your hard drive, open it, and double-click on the Internet Setup Assistant icon.

Click the 'Yes' button.


1. Click the right arrow button.
2. Type FOURnet and click the right arrow button.

3. Click the right arrow button.
4. The phone number is __V.34 291-6340 or V.90 295-4245
Your user ID is <your username here>


Your password is the password you entered on the signup form.

When you are done, click the right arrow button.

 

5. Select No and click the right arrow button.

6. Select No and click the right arrow button.

 

 

7. On the first line of the large box, type 198.70.45.2 and hit the return key. (Secondary DNS)
On the second line of the large box, type 198.70.45.1 (Primary DNS Address)

(Type four.net in the bottom box for the Domain Name.)

When you are done, click the right arrow button.

8. Your email address is  <your username here>@four.net 
Example: janedoe@four.net

Your password is _____________ (your pre-arranged password)


You can leave the 'greater than' symbol in the last box.

When you are done, click the right arrow button.

9. Your email account is <yourusernamehere>@mail.four.net (your email address). Example: janedoe@mail.four.net


The email host is mail.four.net

When you are done, click the right arrow button.

10. Your Newsgroup Host is news.four.net

When you are done, click the right arrow button.

11. Select NO here

When you are done, click the right arrow button.

Connect. Click the 'Go Ahead' button and your iMac will be ready to connect!

 

 

Because there are many variants of operating systems and versions as well as differing protocols, the dialog boxes pictured above may not appear exactly the same as the version of software or operating system in your computer. 

However, FOURnet's Internet Addresses, and the configuration steps required to setup your connection to the Internet are the same and do not require any changes regardless of which computer or operating system you use to connect to the Internet.
